How to import routs from other sources?

Postby Kaiser » Mon Jun 04, 2012 5:31 pm

Hi,

how can I use routes that I downloaded or created with other sources?

I tried "GPX Track" after creating a new fllight plan, but all the GPX files I uploaded seems to be empty - even the ones I created few seconds befor with govfr:

Original filename: govfr_19334_20120529.gpx
Track distance: 0nm
Track duration: 0:00

How can I use GPX files from other sources within govfr?

Thank you in advance

regards
Georg

Hi Georg

Thanks for your feedback - there seems to be an issue there, I experience the same when uploading a *.gpx File. Let us have a look and get back to you shortly.

Hi Georg

Thanks for the comment! Right now the GPX overlay works for tracks recorded in GPX format (at least with Garmin devices).
The GPX files must represent a track, not a route. But I like the idea to exchange routes as well.

Therefor i will implement something to import/export routes in GPX as well as in FPL format. This feature will be available with the next major release coming in October.

Happy landings,

Dear pilots

Please check out the latest version of goVFR.
Since of December 2012, goVFR supports *.fpl format.

Files can now not only be exported, but imported as well. Please check the tutorial Import flight plans.

Hi

It's fixed - it was a permission issue that affected some users.

Please check it out let us know if anything is still open.
