Aircraft CG Limits

Postby Wittgren-67 » Thu Mar 20, 2014 12:58 pm

Hello!

I need help to add the CG Limits when I'll edit aircraft. I've tried to insert values for a Piper Cherokee 180C, but can not add the values correctly to get it to work in W & B.

Can you inform me how I should do?

Kind regards, Stefan Wittgren

Hi Stefan

I just double checked with entering a PA28 myself and it seemed to work quite nicely. Not sure whether I got all values correctly, I tried to find them on the internet. You find "my" aircraft with
Matriculation: HB-PA28
Model: Piper PA-28-180

Find below two screenshots of a planned flight:

I used the following values:
Aircraft general info: see aircraft details
Layout:
Front Left: 85.5in, 170lbs
Front right: 85.5in, 170lbs
Rear left: 118.1in, 170lbs
rear right: 118.1in, 17lbs
Baggage: 142.8in, 114lbs
Fuel: 95.0 in, 50USG

CG Limits:
85.1in, 1200 lbs
85.1in, 1850 lbs
92.1in, 2400 lbs
94.5in, 2400 lbs
95.9in, 2200 lbs
95.9in, 1200 lbs

For the "how to", see next post ;-)

... and here we go with the "how to".

As far as I could see:
- the WB Chart of your aircraft does not look correct
- there's no aircraft layout

First: create airplane
- create your airplane with MTOM, TAS, Weight etc. - already done

Second: CG Limits
- set CG limits
- make sure you start with bottom left, then go around the graph clockwise (!): start bottom left, upper left, upper right, mid right, bottom right. The CG Values in my last post are in the correct order.

Third: aircraft layout
- edit the rows CG stations for seats, baggage, fuel (see "layout" in my last post)

This should make everything work fine. When planning a flight, edit the values in your flight plan to get the CG.

Let me know if you need any further help - and always happy landings.

Best, Marco
