Adding an Aircraft

Postby bbaron » Thu Aug 06, 2009 1:23 pm

In the "Aircrafts" box is a list of previously registered aircrafts.
The list ist sorted by
total distance of recorded GPS tracks
    number of saved flightplans
    aircraft matriculation

Before adding an aircraft, check if it's already in the system.
Unique identifier is the aircraft matriculation.

Start inserting the matriculation in the appropriate text field:

If the aircraft is already available, you may check its specification by clicking on it in the list.

If you can't find an aircraft that fits your need, you may add one by clicking the "add" button in the box header:

A new page is loaded where you can fill in a form and provide the information that is required for all the calculations.
It is important to supply correct data!
We do NOT double check your entries.
If you are not sure about any specific detail, please check the aircraft user manual first.

Missing a fuel type? Please send a note or add open a thread in the quality section of this forum.

Why can I not insert fuel volume in Kg or pounds?
It's crucial to select the correct fuel type first, before enter the fuel mass. As we cannot control this, we decided to go the other way round.

Finish the process with a click on the "add aircraft" button.
Now the aircraft is available to plan flights with.

The user who added an aircraft is the technical owner in the system.
Only the owner can edit the information any time later.
You can check who added the aircraft by accessing the detail view of the aircraft (just select it in the list of aircrafts).
happy landings,
